Pv has Passion 10

This post is in regards to my interview. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get an interview because I could never catch my dad to interview him. I would of liked to get his points on it because this culture has been a part of his life since he was younger and he was also building cars during the time when Lowriders were at their height in Arizona. I also would like to get his view on how things have changed in the community as well as the relations with local law enforcement. The views that have changed the most is the way Lowriders do things, I've noticed that its no longer about just having a car to who has more and more. Its sad that things are changing so much that you cant go to the park and enjoy small shows because theirs always a person who comes and makes it a bigger deal then it is. People have lost the joy for the sport and only do it for the popularity.

I would have mainly directed my questions how things have changed over the past 20 to 30 years. I always would like to show how he started and what things influenced him many years ago to this day. I know he constantly still works on cars that's why its so hard to catch him because he's always working. I would still like to get his views on this project overall.

Pv has Passion 11

My final post comes to show how far I've come overall. As a whole I think I've reached my goal mainly, my main problem is the 3-D printer has not been working so I may not be able to get all my parts in and printed. My plan will still continue the same to have as many parts as possible to show what I've built as well as my community. Although one thing I've noticed is the Lowrider community has grown over this year by its self. With the rise of social media and people starting to break free from cultural barriers we see the rise in multiple unrecognized ethnic groups and communities.

My view and knowledge about the cultural importance as well as the idea of Lowriders has not changed since I've begun this project it has only developed more. People don't recognize how much a car can really do for a person, its more then just something to get you from point a to b. For some its a further extension of themselves, its a way to get away from daily struggles, its a family bond you build with people who have the same passion you do. they may be cars, but it can help you through so much more in life, it can be your motivation to work harder or even the family crest you pass down each year as a symbol of what your heritage represents. We may look like gang members, but in reality we are just trying to show our works of art, ours just happens to be a rolling canvas.

Lowriders may not end the wars or bring racism to an end, but it can be a sign in communities that we are continuing a passion that we will pass down generation after generation. This should be something people are proud to support, even local police departments are starting to give more lenience toward people just trying to keep people out of trouble by surrounding themselves with a  growing community of a never ending passion.

Pv has Passion 9

What I need to do is tomorrow I will come in early to print my 3-D model and print my proposal to turn it in. I want to also get my interview done and video proposal done today. I have all my questions ready for my interview and hopefully can get it uploaded today. My main worry is that my 3-D project will not be fully printed by the time we present but I hope to have simple pieces of it done. I plan on at least having half my project printed and be able to show case how much work and detail goes into these small pieces.

Reflecting on my project, I enjoyed doing something that has meaning to me as well as something that can connect with so many people in different communities. This passion is driven by countless people as well as multiple ethnic groups its a world wide passion. Being able to understand the science of this culture is more then money its being able to do the work and have a full mechanical understanding in multiple fields. Lowriders may not save the world but it can bring it together through passion and love for the pass time.

Pv has Passion 8

My project has been moving smoothly. Now I will take the time to plan out my presentation and configure the rest of my pieces. For my project revolves around Lowriders and their effect on the communities. For this my plan was to build a 3D printed hydraulic pump to show case how complicated these moving works of art truly are. Luckily Lowriders have been given a new light  to shine on with the recent events of cars in D.C. they organization who runs this project invited 3 cars from around the U.S. to represent each culture. The Lowriders were graced with one of the most respected cars and a known legend to all Lowriders around "The Gypsey Rose". This is a step toward the future interacting more communities and showing what is possible with a bond between a man and a machine.

My last missing aspects for my project are finishing my interview, adding my last couple missed post and finish typing my essay. I have most of these pieces together they just need the last details added to them. I do enjoy what I'm working on and appreciate how far my project has come, this is something that has affected my life from such a young age and even affects me now with the cruel behavior and judgement from those in the communities. I want a shine a light on a culture so often frowned upon for ill stereotypes, we must learn not all people are bad and not judge others for what they appreciate and put so much hard work and dedication into.

Pv has Passion 7

My current status has not changed much, the only main difference is tomorrow I will continue on my journey to print all my parts. I am going to come in early to my class and work with the teacher to set all my parts up to be printed, after school tomorrow I will also do my interview with my dad. I have a rough idea of what I am going to ask but not completely sure, my plan is to just roll with the idea and see where it goes. I'm sure I can make it a few minutes and get some good answers out of it.

My main problem so far was being able to get my teacher to print all my parts, I feel like it is the main support of my project because it is the whole visual of my idea. I'm using it as a physical expression to my entire project, It shows how the culture is built around a part basically. Each piece to the part represents a struggle or a success to the culture. We all grow up around things that influence us, but its not necessary the item itself that inspires us. its the roll models that step up and help the community is who we thrive to follow.

Pv has Passion 5

My progress has slowed due to the fact that the quarter is ending and I am not able to finish the process of 3-D printing my project. This is one of the major factors of my project because it is the visual representation to my cause. I feel like ill have my project done right after the break, over the break I am going to do my interview and edit my proposal.

My next step is mainly my interview which I will do over the break with my Dad. The biggest problem I am having right now is making my questions for the interview because I do not know what the requirements are. I have started thinking about my questions but do not know which way I want to take them, I think I will start with asking about his history with cars and the culture then lead to how it affects todays society.

My main research right now is learning about the origin of Lowriders and some of the well known leaders and car clubs that started in the early 60's. This helps me see how the culture and the way society sees this lifestyle change over time as well as the relations with local police departments.

Pv Has Passion 4

My current position is I have my designs built and ready to be completed, but I need the to be printed still. I'm still waiting for my teacher to print them so I can assemble my model. My next step is to do my expert interview which is my Dad. I need to create all my questions for the interview so I can have my complete interview ready and know what I'm going to talk about. the other thing I need to do is edit my proposal so I can have my full essay ready.

Overall, I feel like I have made good progress but I need to finish my few last parts. I think I should be done within the next couple of weeks as long as I'm able to focus on my parts. My question is what are the requirements for the interview and who can edit my essay to help me get it all done. I will probably finish all my parts over the break so I can have enough time to fully edit and gather my info for the project.

Pv has Passion part 3

MY project hasn't progressed due to the fact I have no access to the 3-D printer at the moment. The only further steps I have been able to progress on are editing my proposal. over the next week I need to do my video proposal as well as attempt to record my expert recording on my project.

One point I can add to this overall struggle is it has seem that police brutality has seemed to decrease against Lowriders because maybe they are realizing we are not causing any threats to the community. I believe a lot of people fear what they don't know or the things they have never seen before so in certain areas the ideas of the Hispanic culture extending may seem as a threat to them. I want people to recognize this as a lifestyle rather to relations with gangs.

Overall I feel my project is close to done it is just the small parts that will take place to top it off. I just need to get the rest of the needed information to finish the rest of my write up as well as the small bits of information to connect all my pieces.

Pv Has Passion 2

For my second post I can state where I am now, I have finished designing my 3-D project I just need to print it when the printer is available in my drafting class. We are often busy during class so I need to go in during the morning or during any other class and see if he is available to begin the printing process. after my project is printed it will move along smoothly because all I will need to do is assemble my pump and do the rest of the interviews and write ups.

I have easy access to a expert because my Dad has been building lowriders for the past 25 years which gives him knowledge and experience on these systems and designs. I also have multiple hydraulic parts in my house to be able to measure and build my design off of. This process was quite easy for me to go along with because it is something I do regularly on my time off and allows me to get a better understanding of what I'm doing and how it affects those around me.

I had the luck to be able to attend the Lowrider show in Phoenix which gave me the chance to view new designs and ideas as well as a closer view on how things operate. I was able to modify my parts on a small scale to show these changes in designs and innovation over time. What was also good about this entire event is you can see how the community is growing and how they get along and affects those around them,. Their was several thousand people gathered to support one lifestyle and bond as one big family.

Passion Project Progress

My passion project is going well, I am progressing quickly. I have begun the process of printing my 3-D project and waiting for it to finish. I have completed my proposal, but it may need small amounts of editing in my grammar and punctuation. My next step in the process is I need to create my video proposal and add it to my blog but I am not sure where to put it.

One significant thing that has brought a positive effect to the Lowriding community is the movie coming out about Lowriders. This has brought so much attention to the community and hopefully will show a different side to the true story of people who struggle everyday to live this lifestyle. One major factor that will always slow us down is the fact that police harassment always seem to single us out. We need a way to express ourselves without being looked down upon or even forced to be a part of society that is considered as criminals.

Lastly, this project is close to me because it is something I live daily. I have countless memories where my passion was frowned upon or was even harassed by other groups or police for my joys. I want to show theirs more to this community then drugs and gangs. Even though my project will only touch those who are near me or even only those who understand it has a major impact on my lifestyles and self goals.
